With the welcomed cycle lanes on the Weddington Road, a Toucan Crossing is planned near the junction with Trent Road. This would connect with the ring road, yet avoid the Old Hinckley Road gyratory system. Here is a detailed drawing of the proposed crossing. This crossing was begun in February 2009.
